Interior Description

INTERIOR

The interior is satin varnished cherry throughout. Overhead panels are covered in Majalite. Salon and Galley re-covered as recently as 2023. The Pilothouse panels were covered in black in 2022.

Salon:

The salon makes maximum use of the beam while still allowing ample space for the starboard side deck walkway.

To starboard is a dining table with a pop up TV behind.

To port is a built in settee / love seat. This settee has all new cushions and is covered in blue Ultraleather. There are two easy chairs with foot rests (New 2023)

Outboard to Starboard is a 2022 Sony Bravia 48″ TV on a lift. There is also a Bose entertainment system with five speakers around the perimeter overhead.

Just forward of the dining table is a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator.

Large (but appropriately engineered) windows surround the salon interior providing good visibility from most anywhere. The windows have wooden louvered blinds installed in valances that surround the windows.

The cabin sole is covered with new carpet 2023. The overheads are finished in Majalite covered panels and a full-length handrail is installed as well.

Forward, the salon connects nicely to the galley creating a convivial atmosphere at mealtime.

Master Stateroom:

The Master stateroom is full beam giving it a wide-open and airy feeling. There is abundant hanging and drawer storage. The bed is king size (New Mattress 2023) with storage drawers below. Electronics and TV provide convenient monitoring underway.

Master Head:

  • Granite topped vanity
  • Steam shower
  • Tecma toilet
  • Mirrored locker doors over vanity
  • Exhaust blower

Port Guest Stateroom:

The port and starboard guest staterooms are separated by a hallway extending forward from the master.

The port stateroom features a queen size bed (New Mattress 2023), hanging locker, and drawer storage. It also connects to the forward head and the hallway. There are two opening ports, a light-colored overhead and reading lamps.

The port guest head is forward, using the space in this area of the boat efficiently. It includes a nice size shower, Tecma head, tile floor, and granite topped vanity with mirrored locker doors.

Starboard Guest Stateroom:

The starboard guest stateroom has two single bunk beds (New Mattresses 2023). There

are two opening ports, locker and drawer storage, light colored ceilings and reading lamps.

The starboard guest head and shower area is certainly smaller than the port guest head but adequately sized.

Pilothouse and Electronics

Pilot House:

In addition to being the center of vessel operations, the pilothouse is also where the off watch crew tends to gather. The Nordhavn 64’s pilothouse is more than big enough to accommodate all.

An oversized and very comfortable Stidd helm chair is centered behind the wheel.

There is a large settee (New cushions 2022) with seating for 6-7 guests or off-watch crew and a dinette table to match. The sight lines from the seating area afford great viewing for the guests. Aft of the settee is a full-size off watch berth (New Mattress 2023) surrounded by a privacy curtain. There are bookshelves above the head of the berth to port.

The overhead panels were recently (2022) re-upholstered with black Majalite for night time electronics glare reduction. Multiple overhead handrails add to security underway.

To port and starboard there are watertight Dutch doors opening to the pilothouse side decks. Each door has an interior cabin side handrail mounted next to it.

Book shelves and work spaces complete the extraordinary pilothouse found on this size yacht. The cabin sole is cherry covered with new carpet.

Electrical

The primary electrical system onboard is 60hz (North American), although the battery chargers are Victron multi-frequency “Skylla” chargers (new 2023), which can accept 50 or 60hz incoming power from 85 to 440 volts. In a 50hz environment, the batteries can be charged and then 60hz AC inverted power can be pulled from the batteries to operate most of the 120v and 240v loads in the boat. For high amperage loads, such as laundry dryer, water maker operation and the like, generator power may be required.

The primary distribution panel is located just to port of the Engineroom door, down below in the utility area. It includes both AC and DC panels and functions, as well as generator start and control panels plus power input selector switches.

Glendinning Shore Power cord retractors on both Ship and Air Conditioning cords.

Charles Isolation Transformer for main ship shore connection.

  • HVAC Chillers x 3 also tied into Kabola Diesel Furnace
  • New and used oil tanks
  • Oil change system
  • Lifeline AGM House Battery Bank 12 x 8DL’s (New 2022)

Fuel System

The Nordhavn fuel system is one of the most reliable found on any yacht and consists of four main storage tanks, one main engine supply tank and one wing engine supply tank.

Total capacity: 3230 US gals/12,209 L in the following tanks:
Forward port tank: 660 gals.
Forward stbd. tank: 660 gals.
Port engine room tank: 905 gals
Starboard engine room tank: 905 gals.
Main reservoir tank: 80 gals.
Wing supply reservoir tanks: 20 gals.

The main storage tanks are constructed of fiberglass laminated with vinylester resin. All tanks have inspection ports. The engine room tanks are fitted with man-sized inspection ports and have removable baffles. Should they become contaminated and require cleaning, the interiors could be accessed.

The primary function of the main reservoir (day) tank is to provide the fuel to the main engine and generators. The wing engine has its own isolated supply tank. The main supply tank has multiple functions beyond supplying the main engine including early detection of water accumulation in the system, and cumulative fuel consumption measurement.

Should water begin to accumulate in the fuel system, it would generally do so in the lowest point of the fuel system, which would be the sump in the bottom of the supply tank which is fitted with a Racor water sensor that would sound an alarm in the pilothouse. The water could then be drained from the bottom of the sump by a valve installed there.

There is a sight gauge on the supply tank that indicates the level in the tank. While the main engine can electronically and reasonably accurately indicate its fuel consumption rate, the fuel consumption rate of the main engine plus a generator, or generator alone can be measured over a period of time on the sight gauge.

The standard fuel system has filtering and polishing capability through the fuel transfer system. Whenever fuel is being transferred, it is being filtered. The process can be done by transferring from one tank to another or one tank back to itself. In addition, fuel can be pre-filtered to the supply tank in the event that a contaminated load of fuel has been taken onboard.

Vicky-J has recently been fitted with Maretron tank monitoring on all tanks including the day (supply) tank, viewable in the pilothouse.

Lower Utility Area

Down below, “Vicky-J” boasts a large utility area with plenty of storage and work surfaces to port. There is a head (Tecma) and shower to Starboard that can be used as a day head and is in the middle of the boat down low, making it ideal for underway use.

There is an extra convertible fridge / freezer (New 2023), drinks cooler and laundry area with pull out folding table in between.

The separate washer and dryer were installed new in 2022 (Bosch 800 series).

The main breaker panel and ship/shore selectors are located to the port side of the aft bulkhead in this area.

Engineroom

Vicky J’s Engineroom is clean, organized and tidy.

All engines are running Synthetic Mobil 1

Exterior

Stepping Aboard “Vicky-J”, one immediately understands how rugged and solid the Nordhavn 64 is. The side and aft doors are particularly solid and close with a good “thunk”.

The added swim platform that Yacht Tech had designed, built and attached to this vessel back in 2020 is an absolute work of art. The polished welds, sturdy teak planks and built-in cleats are all more than fit for a passage maker of this caliber.

The string of rocket launchers, down riggers and even a high end pot puller along the stern of the boat give you the distinct feeling that the owner loves to fish.

There’s a 550lb (per day) Frigibar crushed and piped ice-maker (new 2022) discretely mounted in the port side cockpit locker piping fresh ice to the Yeti coolers on the swim / fishing platform and a 110V Frigibar chest freezer (new 2022) mounted on the boat deck for storing all that fresh fish and crab !

The decks are teak and as one would expect, the teak that was trimmed, checked and sanded back in 2020. The deck has been lovingly cared for and still looks beautiful.

An aft control station (with steering) on the starboard quarter gives one the opportunity to take control while reeling in a fish or while backing toward the dock. This station was provided with a full function NavNet 17 inch Display back in 2022 for providing all the information one could want whilst standing at the back of the boat with a fishing rod or just at the controls for a docking maneuver.

The aft deck has an overhead canvas extension in Blue (new 2022) And new cushions and canvas covers with padded table covers (new 2022)

The tables and aft cap-rail varnish were completed in 2022.

Ahead and to starboard is a 24V Maxwell warping winch for adjusting the lines in a blow or setting a stern tie.

The asymmetrical design of the 64 gives the crew a walkway to starboard with a boarding door amidships and a step in the hull to help one step up from a lower floating dock.

The Portuguese Bridge has both Port and Starboard wing control stations (with steering of course)

All exterior stations with courtesy lights.

All deck Courtesy lighting was replaced in 2022.

Over the Port and Starboard Pilothouse doors, the present owner had stainless frames and canvas overhead covers made to shield the doors from rain. (new 2022)

The large foredeck affords one ample room for getting lines and fenders ready or operating the hydraulic windlass.

600 Feet of 1/2 inch anchor chain was replaced in 2023.

The hydraulic anchor wash makes cleaning the new chain a breeze if anchoring on a muddy bottom.

The spacious Flybridge area is accessible by way of the steps up from the boat deck or from the starboard side of the pilothouse by way of the stairs and flybridge opening hatch. The flybridge was recently enclosed on three sides with zippered EZ2CY and Stamoid (new enclosure 2023)

There is one centered Large Stidd Chair in Blue (new 2021)

The boat deck aft is lit with 110V Floodlights

Frigibar 6 foot 110V custom chest freezer

SteelHead 2500lb Davit with remote control added 2022

Tender

The Beautiful AB inflatable was added new with new Stainless deck chocks in 2021

She’s a 17 foot AB with 70Hp Yamaha

The cushions (as with many AB inflatables) turned pink in patches, so the owner had new cushions made to replace the originals.

The tender was adorned with a new stainless folding radar arch in 2022 to accommodate the new canvas cover 2022.

The tender is equipped with:

  • The name 9 inch touchscreen chart plotter
  • Radar
  • FA70 AIS
  • SCX 70 Satellite compass
  • Depth Sounder
  • Icom VHF Radio
  • Pot puller and rod holders
