Accommodations

The Salon is entered from the aft deck through a Diamond Seaglaze dutch-style (2 part) door. (All doors on the boat are Diamond Seaglaze, gasketed, with separate dogs.) All doors close with a reassuring, solid thump.

Once in the Salon, there are settees to port and starboard finished in Ultra Leather. There is substantial storage underneath and behind the settees. To the starboard side of the salon, opposite the galley, is the closet for the GE stacked washer and dryer, hidden behind a louvered teak door. The galley is to port, with a beautifully tiled floor, black granite countertops and backsplash.

A short set of steps leads up to the pilothouse, where the impression is of the command center of a small ship. A high-back Stidd chair sits before a custom teak and stainless wheel; a raised “L” shaped setee is aft of the helm, and there is a beautiful high gloss teak table in front of the setee. In the aft end of the pilot house is a full pilot berth, for those long offshore passages. Port and Starboard Diamond Seaglaze dutch doors lead outside. A staircase from the starboard side of the pilothouse leads down to the stateroom area. Two of the forward pilothouse windows open for ventilation.

Forward of the pilot house is the Portuguese bridge, protecting the pilot house and persons on deck from the weather. The forward deck has two huge storage bins, and an anchor locker which is accessed by a Freeman hatch. The anchor locker is lit, and has shelves and line hooks. The bow area at the windlass is brilliantly designed with a self contained, drained area: any mud or sand from the anchor rode drops into this area and is drained overboard, keeping the main foredeck clean.

As you exit the port door from the pilothouse, stairs lead to the aft deck and the flying bridge. The aft deck holds the 2013 10’6″ AB console dinghy with a 30 HP four stroke Honda outboard with power tilt and trim. The boom is equipped with two 24v electric winches for launching and retrieving the dinghy. If you wanted, there is sufficient extra room for a second tender to be stored on the upper deck!

The flybridge is up a short set of stairs. One immediately notices the Garmin electronic upgrades. Full instrumentation, navigation screens and controls are available on the bridge. She is equipped with a mast lowering package capable of the Great Loop passage.

From the starboard door of the pilot house, a set of stairs takes you down to the working side deck along the salon, and then to the aft deck. There is a large cockpit door on the floor of the aft deck for access to the lazarette, which contains the watermaker, inverter, and the ship’s battery banks. There is also a separate door from the lazarette into the engine room.
